granted, I'm not sure the repo is up-to-date there yet
This does not take into account the time when we used the CVS repository on source forge.
...and most likely it only takes into account commits, not contributed patches with only stylistic changes by the committers.
It's still neat graphically though. If all contributors were merged into one list, such stars might be a way to make major contributors stand out. (I'd prefer two lists though for a special mention.)
