I'm also not especially fond of of expansive discussion on lesser
details, but there is a decade of Be-culture surrounding the "about
windows", both in the BeOS and in 3'rd party applications. That's the
primary reason I didn't feel free to commit generic content for all of
the Haiku apps without prior discussion. Maybe I should have more
directly stated what I wanted to fix, how I intended to fix it, and
that I was looking for primarily admin approval.

I did think about creating an AboutWindow class like the one Ryan
suggested before even starting this thread, and it should be an easy
task, so in hindsight yes, I should have done that, but I didn't feel
like wasting my time if there would not be acceptance for giving up the
"personal touch" of the about windows. So, as a pre-emptive strike I
posted illustrative screenshots and my list of perceived problems. Next
time I will consider starting in code mode.

I'm well aware of that, and I hope to be part of the solution.
Summer has just started. Surf's up! ;)
