This is valuable feedback Curtis, so thanks for sending it.

As Urias said, my proposed "AboutWindow" class is primarily for the
Haiku project's included applications. As Jonas pointed out in the
original message there is a lot of inconsistency now in the about
windows for those applications. Since they are all provided by the
Haiku project and will be delivered together as part of a Haiku
distribution, it makes sense that they have a consistent look and feel
in the about window (and probably in other areas which may also need
to addressed.) I doubt the AboutWindow class I would create would even
be part of the Haiku R1 public API, so third party developers wouldn't
necessarily even be able to use it if they wanted to. They certainly
wouldn't be forced to use it.

I have Cooper's "About Face 2.0" (in fact it is sitting right next to
my "BeOS Bible", hehe), so I'll take a look and see what Cooper has to
say about About windows in there. I do agree though that even the
Haiku application About windows could provide a little more
information (like a quick overview of what the application does.)

Ryan
