I think an ARM port would be a welcome project. If you are really
interested in working on Haiku, you might apply for this idea and also
put in a backup project idea in case this one isn't picked.
On a related note, anyone notice a familiar name now at gumstix, an
ARM board maker:

I saw a talk given by their founder Gordon back in 2005, they seem to
mostly aim at the hobbyist market, at least back then they did:
