In my personal use, I never use F2 for renaming, but I realize some people may use it, and expect it to work. I actually used to have a use case for using every F-key alone, and that was to simply change workspaces (without the Alt key). I used to use the input_server addon FWorkspaces which swapped Fx for Alt+Fx and Alt+Fx for Fx in all cases. This made it "easier" to switch between the 12 workspaces I use (F1 through F12), but it did have the drawback of making other operations more difficult or confusing. For instance, refreshing a webpage would require Alt+F5 instead of just F5. That said, I doubt that making hitting a Function key alone providing a workspace change would ever be our default behavior, as it'd likely be more confusing to the end user wondering why a change of workspace happened when he tried to refresh his webpage, for instance. Again, that is an expectation issue on the user's part, since F5 refreshes on every other platform by default. Anyways, my previous comments aside, I think a mapping like Adrien mentioned could be good. I'd like to have most (okay, at least half) function keys mapped out to something standard system-wide (as best as possible) though, otherwise I'd prefer nothing and just be able to set them up in Shortcuts the way I want. Just my opinion, and I really don't mind the change at all, as I think it's a good start. I just would like to see more function keys implemented to something, or else just have them all left alone. - joe
