I will - yesterday I tried to repeat the same thing in mercurial: branching
off posix-locale, adding all my patches and then merging (i.e. pulling in)
all changes from trunk. Reassuringly, it just worked.
On top of that, subversion was unable to export individual changes in a
format that was sufficient to apply those patches properly to the mercurial
repo (renamed files would stay around empty). However, mercurial was
perfectly happy to convert the posix-locale branch from the subversion repo
in a way that could then be imported into my local mercurial repo. Funny,
that mercurial knows better how to fetch patches from a subversion repo than
subversion itself. I'm pretty much sold (see my corresponding mail to
haiku-development).

cheers,
        Oliver
