I agree that the shine effect is overdone. I tried to come up with some other subtle effect that would make the tabs stand out a bit, but I failed. I know how to use Photoshop, but I'm not much of an artist. It's a dangerous combination to be sure. :) A photo of Haiku Valley should definitely be included with R1 as example artwork.
