Note that as it was discussed in comment:9 we are planning to use more
generic solution for this problem that can be utilized in every
application requiring such functionality. Could you try to improve your
patch in this direction? Thank you for the contribution!
PS: there are some codestyle issues in your patch so please take care
about it too. ;-)
