 I thought that was obvious by only explaining how to get the relevant
 syslog... As mentioned in the comments above, the operation mode when not
 using APICs is quite different, and it only works because it doesn't try
 to use any of the more recent features. As such it also doesn't tell much
 about the problem at hand (as the problematic features aren't even
 touched), so a syslog from a "working" system is rather uninteresting.
