As written in comment:7 there definitely is a bug in `ipw2100_open()`
(leaking the `IPW2100` object when the `Open()` on it fails), which could
result in exactly the reported problem. Whether that actually causes the
issue in this case I cannot stringently deduce from the given information
(it's certainly possible that there's another leak or other bug as well,
though this is the prime suspect). At any rate this needs to be fixed
anyway, so we can just see whether the issue goes away afterwards.
