#5816: Kernel out of memory ---------------------------+------------------------------------------------ Reporter: axeld | Owner: axeld Type: bug | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: R1/alpha2 Component: System/Kernel | Version: R1/Development Keywords: | Blockedby: Platform: All | Blocking: ---------------------------+------------------------------------------------ When running checkfs on a volume with many files, or when copying these files to another volume, the slabs keep an insane amount of memory back. This works for a while, but ultimately, the kernel runs out of memory during the above actions. The test case was a 2 GB machine with around 400,000 files on it. I'm currently trying to reproduce the problem in VMware with a lower amount of memory (and files). -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/5816> Haiku <http://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
