When running checkfs on a volume with many files, or when copying these
files to another volume, the slabs keep an insane amount of memory back.

This works for a while, but ultimately, the kernel runs out of memory
during the above actions. The test case was a 2 GB machine with around
 400,000 files on it.

I'm currently trying to reproduce the problem in VMware with a lower
 amount of memory (and files).
