If I can ever find some free time I’ve been wanting to put together some sort
of web based thing to inventory components and link datasheets and stuff to
help members find the parts they need locally. Of course components don’t tend
to “walk” around or out of a shop as much as tools.

Hey all,
I'll get right to it. The ultimate tool is the one you know exists and can find
without having to get a hold of the one person that is the only one who knows
if we have what you need or where it is.
Think how much time we waste looking for what we need or wondering if it's here
at all.
I want a Siri enabled tablet thing that is accessible remotely from internet
too, as a living searchable wiki or something that shows if we have some item
or tool, and says where it should be or currently is. or can we rfid tag
several hundred things.
is there a way to do this? I've been here almost 1 year and as much time as
I've spent here I still don't know half of what we have or where the he'll it
is if I know we have it.
we need a universal makerspace item finder/inventory and map tool, that's
easily upgradable. or several hundred rfid tags and an augmented reality
locator app. Something!
Is this possible? ideas?
