[hackpgh-discuss] Attendance

I wanted to send out an email to remind everyone that the shop really does
NEED you all to come in and work on projects. Our attendance has been slowly
deminishing over the past few months. I know everyone is busy with things
going on in their lives but if you can spare some time to come in and do the
things that inspired you to join the shop in the first place it would really
help.

We can not attract new members with an empty shop.  It's also hard to keep
our current members when they don't have a group there to support
them. Monday night only a few of us working on the LEAD Balloon project were
in the shop. Wednesday night I stayed until 10pm working on projects and was
the only one there the whole time. Andy came in tonight to open the shop and
left at 7:30 because no one was there. Now, on the night when we encourage
strangers to stop in and check things out, the shop sits locked up and dark.

It can not soley be left on a few of us to keep the shop open and operating.
I know I have stressed this many times, but feel it must be said again. We
all have important things going on in our lives, this is what bring
diversity and resources to the shop. If we all contribute though to keeping
the shop open and alive we can make it better than it is and not put a
burden on a few members.

This is not the frst time in the past year we have had problems like this
and the solution is very simple.  If you have the time, come to the shop. If
you come others will too, it's exponential. Please consider trying to make
it in more over the next month, we need your help.
