try line in? It should not be coming out of your speakers though unless you have software to make that happen. If you use sound recorder and playback results in silence, you need to fiddle. Otherwise, it's working properly.

Hi,

Could someone tell me if there's some other type of way to get my microphone to work? I went and turned the microphone on and adjust the volume so that I can hear out of my laptop speakers and nothing is coming out. I wonder if there's something in the bios to turn on to get the input jack to work. I have it plugged in but nothing is coming out. Would this be possible? Would there's be something in the control panel in sounds to turn it on?
