Hi Anita -- There used to be a listserv list directory called catalist.org or
.com or whatever. This only listed a collection of listserv lists on various
domains. You could search for a subject and the site would tell you what lists
are available, post a description of the list and give subscription
instructions. A long time ago I found a really great list for anything to do
with playing the flute. The catalog is huge, that is if it is still available.
As I said this was quite a while ago.

Also, some of the list management sites like yahoogroups and smartgroups etc,
let you search for public lists.

There's really no way to do a mass search for all the lists out there. It is
mind boggling the number of lists and groups are available.

Anyway good luck.

  Subject: [guispeak] Search Question.

  Hi list,
how's the best way to search for specific types of mailing lists? When
using Google, the results are less than desirable.
