[guispeak] Re: Machine running very slow

Thanks, George. Surprisingly, I had the thing set for automatic
updates, but even when I had updated everything, SP 2 was not present.
However, last night I went to the Windows Update section again, and this
time it did download SP 2 for me, and it is now installed. I really
don't know why or how this happened. But at least we're up to SP 2 now.
I will try the registry cleaner tonight, as I'm still having problems
with Kurzweil.

Thanks for all the great suggestions and help from everyone.

Keith

Hi Keith,

I'm just a tad surprised that you have not actually been offered SP2 as
an update.

That said, it is a HUGE download of around 180 Megabytes.

I suggest you go to
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/protect/default.msp
x and follow the links (which vary from country to country) and see if
you can order the CD for SP2.

That said, it is also available on many cover CDs for popular computer
magazines, so worth asking your friends who buy such mags.

George.

I had not done that. I will see if I can find this program and do
this.----- Original Message -----
