The lowercase ö is alt-0246; the uppercase Ö is alt-0214.

I believe the umlauted o is written o followed by "a" and not "e" though
I prefer to write it in the correct way. I'll search for the key
combinations for all umlauted letters.

  the non-techy way to do an umlaut is to follow the umlauted letter
with an
  e.  Thus u-umlaut instead of being u with dots over it would be
ue--that is
  u followed by e.  It isn't correct, of course, but better than
nothing???
