Beta 0.9
Released December 15, 2006

Fixed Tag or Untag All commands, Control+A or Control+Shift+A, affecting
items not included in the current filter. Changed how accelerator keys
are displayed in the menu system so that screen readers will speak them
more reliably. Added extra speech messages via the default SAPI voice if
neither JAWS nor Window-Eyes are detected.

Enhanced the Jump command, Control+J, to recognize symbols FileDir
associates with file attributes. Thus, you can jump to a ReadOnly file by
entering a single ] character as the search string. A [ would find the
next item without the ReadOnly attribute set. Using the Jump Again
command, Alt+J, you can efficiently hop from one match to the next.

Enhanced the Filter command, Control+F, to match more than one
specification. For example, entering
would limit the view to items having either a .doc or .pdf extension. To
view all items again, enter a single * character for the filter, or use
the Clear Filter command, Control+Shift+F.

Enhanced the Type Command, Shift+T, to announce file attributes as well as
the extension. Enhanced the Say Item command, Apostrophe, to indicate
whether the current item is tagged.

Introduced Burn to CD command, Alt+Shift+B, (like in TextPal) for adding
tagged files or folders to a CD. Added Paste command, Control+V, to copy
files or folders listed on the clipboard to the current folder. Thus,
behavior similar to Windows Explorer is possible, where paths are copied
to the clipboard with Control+C, and then the referenced items are pasted
into another folder window with Control+V.

Added navigational shortcuts. The Initial Change command, Shift+I, goes
to the next item that begins with a different letter. The Extension
Change command, Shift+X, goes to the next item with a different extension.
These are most useful when the sort order is by Alpha/Name or
Type/Extension, respectively.

Added a quick links feature for efficiently opening favorite files. Press
Control+Q to add a quick link for the current item. A standard Windows
shortcut (.lnk file) is created in the Quick subfolder of the FileDir
program folder. Press Shift+Q to open this folder at any time. You can
navigate it just like any other folder. Press Enter to execute a shortcut

FileDir now checks if you are trying to open a folder that already has an
open window. If so, it says "Returning and activates that window rather
than starting a new one. Press F4 to pick one of the currently open
windows from a standard ListBox. Use the Alternate Menu command, Alt+F10,
to pick a FileDir command from a complete, alphabetical list.
