Hi All,

In case anyone is interested in Traveleyes, I'd thoroughly recommend them.
Yes the holidays come out on the expensive side for the blind travellers,
but it is worth it as you have a guide available to you at all times.

The groups consist of equal numbers of blind a sighted people and each day
you as a blind person are allocated a different guide. You are also
assigned a person to act as a guide during the evenings and at mealtimes in
the hotel should you need that.

I went with my blind partner to Sorrento with them last year and we had a
fabulous time. We feel that although not impossible, a holiday abroad as
two blind people isn't necessarily what we want to do alone as it could be
quite stressful.

Before I went on the Traveleyes holiday last year I was a little concerned
that there would be a bit of a them and us situation between the sighted
people and the blind people. This couldn't have been further from the
truth. Many of the sighted people were in situations where they were single
and didn't want to go on holiday alone, so chose to go on a Traveleyes
holiday for the company of a group holiday. Most of them hadn't met blind
people before but were very quick and eager to learn and we had a great
time.

I'd thoroughly recommend them if you don't have sighted family or friends to
go on holiday with, or if you fancy striking out on your own with a group.
Well worth saving for.

We're off to Turkey with them on Monday week, and I can't wait!

And no, I'm not on commission!!

Mel
