Hello Carol and all,

I recall hearing something like this being reported on another list. There is a
setting in Windows which, after a latest release from Micro Soft has been
downloaded , instructs the computer to switch itself off and back on again.
This ensures that the latest update is immediately incorporated into the
operating system. It is possible to have this setting switched, so that the
latest update is incorporated when the computer is next switched off, so that
your work in progress is not disturbed as you report.

Paul Benson.
