Hi Lynn, Believe it or not, I'm an ex boy scout. DIB, Dib,Dob Dob. hehehe No I
really was. I liked the girl guides too. Now to be serious.

I was one hundred per cent left handed. I could do nothing with my right hand.
I had the Cain and always getting shouted at for using my left hand. Then one
day my teacher decided to cure me once and for all. He tied my left hand
behind my back and did this for three days . It didn't work. He left me alone
after that.

But to get thrown out of brownies, well that takes some beating. hehehehe.

love Malcolm. xxx.

Hi Everyone,

Its interesting hearing all about your schooldays and what you ate, etc. Of
course, at boarding school, it wasn't quite so easy to tell our parents if we
felt a member of staff had treated us unfairly and, as Senn said, there was
always one person who used to get picked on by certain teachers. In my case,
it was one of the school nurses who took a dislike to me and made my life
difficult.

If we were talking after lights out, I would be the one to get blamed, even
though there were usually six of us in a dorm and I would get a really hard
smack from Miss Clarke who had the hardest hands in the world, at least I
thought so when I was five or six.

Another punishment we were given was to be forced to take what Matron called
"Nasty Stuff" which she made up herself. we never really found out what was in
it but it was really awful and we would go down to surgery and wait for this
stuff to be given to us on a spoon.

There were also the usual punishments like being kept in after school and, I
have to admit, that happened to me loads of times. However, if anyone's
parents tried to find out what was happening, the staff would deny all
knowledge and say that, of course, they hadn't hit us or given us awful stuff
to eat.

Just before I end, I will tell you my claim to fame. I got thrown out of
Brownies when I was about ten, not for one particular thing but because myself
and a friend really didn't like the childish games we were made to play so made
our feelings known each time until Brown Owl got really tired of us and said
she didn't want to see any of us again. However, two years later, I joined
Guides and really loved it.

Kind regards,

Lynn
