Hi Vanessa

Yes, it is true about catnip. It's a plant known as catnip, calamintha or
cat-mint, and as the name suggests, it is a member of the mint family (labiatae
or lamiacae). The active ingredient which attracts cats is metatabilacetone.

Cheers

Shane

Subject: [guide.chat] I have a Guide-Cat that is human

My man Daniel read me all you Guide-dog stories, they were so funny, I laughed
with everyone I read.

I do not have a Guide-dog, but I do have a Guide-cat and I am sure he is human.

If anyone is coming to my door, like a visitor or postman, I will know well in
advance, because my cat will hiss and I hear his claws scarper on my laminated
floor.

When I am lying down, my cat combs my hair with his claws, he also curls his
claws gently around my finger, then lets go, then curls them again around my
finger, lets go and continuosly doing this while purring loudly.

I cannot bend down to the floor, so I do not have a litter tray, so where does
he go you may ask, he has his own sink and he pees (excuse the french) down the
plughole, to which the sink plughole has drank lots of disinfectant too.

I have a two foot stick with a thick twine attached and attached to the twine
is a rubber mouse.
The mouses tail is tied to the twine, the twine is tied to the stick.
I then clippety clop the mouse in little bounces and swishes across the floor,
my cat goes belistic, I can hear his claws and pounds here there and everywhere.
The stick and twine used to have a soft toy cat attached, but my crazy cat tore
it apart, so it now has this rubber mouse attached.
The reason my cat tore the original soft toy cat apart was because the soft toy
cat was full of catnip.
Some people smoke drugs called wackybacci (I think I spelt that correctly),
apparently Catnip is a cats waccibacci drug.
Anyone like to email me to say if this is true or false and if they know what
catnip is and made of.

My cat prefers the food I eat to that of catfood, he likes butter, rice
pudding, custard, meat, fish, gravy etc.

I could write lots more about my cat but this email is getting a bit long.
