Carol, the palate is the roof of your mouth. Take that away and you have a big
hole there going into your nostrils. So when you put food in your mouth it
comes out again through your nostrals . Same when you breve your taking air in
through your nostrals and mouth at the same time making it very hard to breaeve
in the normal way. And its also possoible to swol your ttongue because there's
no palate to stop it. Hope you can follow that.
