I agree with you 100 per cent. Do what your most happy with. love Malcolm. xxx Hi Carol and all, oh yes I always need my food cutting up for me and need to be told where everything is on the plate. I use a spoon and fork as find a knife and fork hard to use. Also I believe fingers are the best they were made before forks as the saying goes. I use my fingers a lot when eating I find it much easier. If I'm out with friends I always order something I can eat easily such as chips with something as that way I don't have to rely on anyone to sort my meal out for me. If I'm with people who understand my needs I don't mind what I order as they won't mind helping me out. It also takes me longer to eat. I used to feel that sighted people were staring at me but as I have been blind from birth in a way I have an advantage as for a long time now I haven't let it bother me. It's their problem not ours. After all they are not in our situation so they don't have a clue what it's like. As long as we enjoy our food that's all that matters in whatever way feels right for us. There's no right or wrong way of doing things. It's about what we feel happy with not what others think. If only sighted people could come into our world I would love to blindfold them to make them realise what it's like for us. My family are the only sighted people who understand my needs so I can eat comfortably with them. Yeah, I also feel at ease when eating with the blind club members as we are all in the same boat it's ideal. So happy I'm not the only one on here in this situation. It makes me feel better. Carol I'm so glad you brought up this subject. Love Clare
