I don't think he could read my sign language. We probably need to find out if any of the others are coming. We probably need to plan ahead for future years because this may come up again. I thought he always brought his own? But, not sure we have a choice..... If he's not bringing his own, we're going to have to hire them. It concerns me a bit that if there is only one in Savannah through this organization, we may end up having to pay some travel expenses, too. Since we're a non-profit, I would think we would have to comply with ADA. Some of you might know me well as I am deaf and have participated in PowerSchool sessions through GaETC in the past years. I need sign language interpreters in order to fully participate in the GSIS conference during three-day conference, starting Monday, February 11th at 8 am thru Wednesday, February 13th at 12:30 pm. I request GSIS to provide American Sign Language interpreting services for me and hearing presenters/attendees. I know one of ASL interpreters who happen to live in Savannah. His name is Ramon Norrod. You need to contact Georgia Interpreting Services Network (GISN) to hire two (2) ASL interpreters on each day. Contact information is shown below. You need to contact GISN via Marilyn Teague as soon as possible before the assignments tend to be booked up fast, based on interpreters' availability. Also, please provide GISN a copy of conference agenda, including list of sessions with time five days prior to the conference. 404-521-9100<tel:404-521-9100> or 8000-228-4992 www.Gisn.info<http://www.Gisn.info/> Here is a list of certified & qualified interpreters.
