Good Monday afternoon everyone!
Please find attached a copy of the May newsletter. I plan to email it out
this evening or tomorrow am. We are highlighting out Advocacy Committee
members, and I'm excited that they are on fire and ready to take their
committee to another level. They have already emailed several critical DOE
folks to let them know they are taking a more active role with GSIS and
have requested to be included in emails from different departments so we
can continue to help bridge the gap between DOE and LEA's.
I have also attached a copy of the role and responsibilities for GSIS Board
and Committee members for 2016-17. The biggest change I made has everyone
serve on one committee, with our numbers this works great. Since the
President oversees and helps all committee's, I have removed my name from
both Public Relations and Conference Committee.
One goal I have is for each committee to share the responsibility equally
across the board, please start conversations with those in your committee
to see who will be responsible for what and how you can each play a role in
serving our GSIS attendees/members.
I will continue to work on a 'conference' job duties and responsibilities
to make sure everyone knows what they are responsible for during the
conference itself and will share that as we get closer to conference time.
In the meantime, I have faith that everyone will step up and contribute to
this group with your role and responsibility.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns with any of the above or
anything else, please let me know -- we are a team, but more importantly we
are a family, and none of us is as smart as all of us working together! :)
