I have been working on going through each badge and making corrections. The
list was sent to the printer last Friday (January 23), so all changes since
then have to be manually updated. At least 2 were missing, and there have been
a TON of updates since then, including substitutions, cancellations, and new
registrants. I had so many changes, I ran out of tape for my label maker and am
heading out to get more.
Donna – I am assuming Mike won’t be at the conference, so I am going to cancel
his registration and re-use his badge. I am reusing his badge because at least
one of the missing ones was a presenter. If that has changed since your last
email, let me know.
I want to propose that we have a registration section for Vendors, one for
Presenters, and then alphabetically by district for the rest of the attendees.
It would be nice for the presenters to be able to go to a shorter line. I have
their badges separated from the rest of the attendees. The state agency people
are in with the other presenters, but I could also separate those out if you
prefer.
It will be this afternoon before I am able to send out the reminders to those
who haven’t paid yet. I have two people who paid the Early Bird rate but didn’t
get the money to me until this past week. So they still owe $45. We need the
money, but as Denise has said before, we won’t send them home if they aren’t
prepared to pay the extra money. In case you need to know, the instruction will
be that they have to bring proof that the “check is in the mail” so to speak. I
will accept a PO or check request, but the attendee still has to make sure the
check gets to us.
By the way, we just had another person register, and it is district who didn’t
previously have anyone (Appling). I haven’t canceled Mike’s yet in the
software, so we are still looking at 444.

We are currently have 444 confirmed registrations with $6,160 unpaid. Anna was
going to send reminders out to them, so we will see what we get between now and
Wednesday.

I believe I know why we have had an increase in registration. My assistant
testing director was in an SLO meeting earlier this week. She said several
questions were asked that the facilitator could not answer. They were told at
that meeting that Wanda Jones and Michele Purvis would be at the GSIS
Conference to answer those questions. So she registered for the conference!
