Ok thanks for the info. But does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks,

Eric Middleton

I am pretty sure ActiveX installs are a per user setting as far as IE is
concerned, so that may explain why end users can't use it...they should see
a prompt to install though, even if they cannot do so, unless you have it
set not to through Gp Pol. Best way to setup image machines in this case is
to setup a machine that behave the way you want then import the IE Security
settings into a Gp Pol from that machine.

Correct. I however I can log on as an admin and connect to with no problems
all day. If I log off and log on as an end user supporter I cant connect.
This webex website we use requires an active x control to run to work
correctly.

Hey Eric,

The 1st thing I would try to determine is whether this is a user permission
issue or a Windows Firewall issue.

I am actually working on the very same thing and I will let you know what I
come up with-since the "Offer remote assistance" does not work well over a
regular broadband connection with an upload speed of 128kbit.

If I find the solution- I will let you know but your issue is not from the
recipient side getting assistance -it is from the IT side trying to give
assistance right?

Subject: [gptalk] webex rights

We use webex to remotely control machines in other locations. If I log
into a machine as an admin I can use the webex site and run the active
control and no problems. However if I login as a user that is a part of the
group policy it loads the active control I think but then fails to connect
to the machine or fails to use the active x control needed to connect.
Anyone have any ideas that will help me overcome this?

Thanks,

Eric Middleton
