And for future reference, you would be better off having Office settings in a separate GPO from general user settings. ________________________________ From: gptalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:gptalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Darren Mar-Elia Sent: Wednesday, July 16, 2008 8:50 AM To: gptalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [gptalk] Re: policy merging Ronnie- No, there is no way to extract only some settings from a GPO that way. We have a commercial product, called the Scripting Toolkit <http://www.sdmsoftware.com/group_policy_scripting> , that lets you read and write settings from GPOs that would get you there, but it may not be worth it for only one GPO. I am currently testing Vista. Is there any way I can extract only the office settings from the original user policy and add it to the Vista user policy, other that adding the template and manually configuring all the settings. thanks Ronnie Ronnie Hamilton CCNA Lufthansa Technik Airmotive Ireland Naas Road Dublin Tel : 01 4011253 LTAI Visit our website : www.ltai.ie __________________________________________ Lufthansa Technik Airmotive Ireland Limited.
