i turned on GPMC: error and verbose logging     the file it logs to is 
%temp%\gpmgmt.log        
gpmgmttracelevel=2      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows 
NT\CurrentVersion\Diagnostics
