What is it startup hanging on? (i.e. "running startup scripts",
"applying computer settings", "waiting for network")...That will usually
give you a general idea where the hangup is.

For more specific information you need to enable verbose logging in
Group Policy and start digging through the logs. This is a good place to
start if you're unsure of what to do:

Subject: [gptalk] Troubleshooting Slow Startups

Hi All,

I'm new to the list, please be gentle.

We are having reports of slow start-ups across our estate (time it takes
to get to ctrl+alt+del) , no changes were made as our team control
GPO's, I'm after some assistance in how I could start troubleshooting,
any good tools, blogs, articles, videos etc?

We are Windows XP SP2/Windows 2003.

I'm going to start looking on Monday when I'm back in the office, any
advice, help appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Ricky.
