That's exactly what I planned to do; it's for my notebook users who work
remotely and need to connect to the Internet. I'd rather not show them how to
change their settings (though I have the Connection tab disabled). I created a
reg file that changes IE settings the way I want it, but I don't want to just
give it to them and risk them running it while at work (though GP would refresh
every 1/2 hr or so, anyway). Suggestions?

If the machine is not on your domain you can’t make it run a script at
startup. If you had a startup script configured in Local Computer Policy you
could do something like that but it would require touching every system or
making the change on your image to do so.

Subject: [gptalk] Start-up Scripting
Hey all…
Does the Start-Up script piece of GP initialize when the PC turns on or
after a user logs in? I’m wanting to write a script that checks to see if a PC
is connected to our domain…if it is, then nothing, otherwise it calls a reg
file.
Thanks!
