Yeah, I checked and she's right. AutoPreview looks as though it is
stored on the Exchange server. The Reading Pane is in fact in the
registry but it appears to be a binary setting that is very hard to
manipulate without changing other stuff or possibly corrupting the
Outlook profile.

Your best bet would be to use Custom Installation Wizard (or whatever
the equivalent is now) to default this setting however you want.

Hey Jamie...thanks again for the info; after I got your note below, I
did a bit more poking around and found this site:
http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-1850553.php that said there
isn't a reg key for this (by MVP Sue Mosher...I believe she runs
slipstick.com). Thanks for the info tho.

It might just be a simple registry value that is getting changed
whenever you toggle that setting. Suggest you trying using RegMon or
RegShot to see if you can capture the change. If so, then you can write
a custom ADM or use the GPP Registry extension to populate the setting.

Hi All...
I was wanting to know if anyone has successfully disabled Autopreview
and/or the Reading Pane in Outlook via Group Policy and how you did so.
I didn't see specific policies for this in the Office Resource Kit or
the Office 2K3 ADM Template. Any info is as always greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Shane
