Yeah and that is what is so puzzling. Wouldn't mind if it was still there if my
users would get a message that it couldn't reinstall itself.

Within that policy, did you check the option for that package that said,
uninstall the app when the GPO is no longer in scope?

Roger
Was this a per-computer or per-user install? What was the name of the GPO
that deployed office?

Darren,
Strange is right.... I have beat my brain all weekend trying to figure this
out. Add/Remove programs still shows office 2003 with a size of 528 meg. The
Word shortcut will reinstall Word even with logged on user listed as
non-privileged account.
I have pasted the results of gpresult below.
Thanks for looking at it for me.

That is strange. If the GPO truly no longer applies, then the advertisement
should be gone too. Can you double check that the app is truly uninstalled?
Also run a GPMC GP Results report to verify that the GPO is truly no longer
applying.

Roger-
How did you deploy Office---via Publishing or Assignment?

I have installed office 2003 with a GPO and a custom MST file. The only
thing
the MST does is Publisher from being installed.
I am uninstalling Office 2003 by disassociating the computer object with
the GPO. I watch Office 2003 being removed. However office still shows
up in
add and remove programs and if a user has a program shortcut on their
desktop
for one of the office 2003 products and they start the shortcut, it
reinstalls that product.
1. How do I get office to be removed completely?
2. If there are pieces that are left, how do I get the shortcut to stop
reinstalling the product?
Thanks
