Its not really dangerous since the ADMs don't control the settings in the 
GPO, only what settings you see. So I think its worth trying.

what do you think about re-add ADM files in the PDC GPO Administrative 
Templates, in this case the system ask me if I want overwrite the existing 
files. 

I'ts dangerous to click "Yes" (overvrite)? (This for all ADM  files)

At this point, I think I've run out of ideas. If the ADM files in sysvol 
are the same, if they are same on the local drive, and the GP Editor is 
not filtering the view, then there is no reason you should be missing 
settings.

The files are the same but  On BDC mmc I see correct Policy ADM , but on 
PDC  mmc I see bad Policy ADM.

If you're editing those GPOs from a 2003 machine, then what may be 
happening is that you have the policy set to only use local ADMs when 
editing GPOs. That's why I asked you to look at the ADMs in c:\windows\inf 
on the 2003 machine where you're editing policy. Verify that they are 
intact and if not, that might be your problem.

The size and date of all PDC's file are are correct (same size and date of 
second DC's file)

That seems strange that the PDC's file are wrong. So, you double-checked 
the size of the files on both the PDC and the second DC? Where are you 
editing these GPOs from? Are you editing them from an XP workstation? If 
so, then just for the sake of being thorough, take a look at the ADM files

In my domain I have 2 DC the master have the problem above, but in the 
slave (BDC) I see that the Default Domain Policy (open in remote on master 
DC)  settings are correct:  I see all Administrative templates.

Enrico- 
Double check that the ADM files stored in SYSVOL are really of the correct 
size. For example, on the PDC emulator, go into SYSVOL\Policies\<GUID of 
GPO>\ADM and look the ADM files there. Compare their size to a known good 
copy of the ADMs to ensure they have not been truncated or otherwise 
edited. One good test might be to create a new GPO from your usual GP 
Editing workstation and see if all of the correct ADM settings are 
present.

Is it possible that the GP Editor is set to only show configured policies? 
Under the GP Editor menu, check that  View, Filtering, "Only show 
configured policy settings" is not checked.

I have a regular installation of Windows 2003 standard edition server SP1 
(Italian version) with services: 
-AD 
-WINS 
-DNS 

I have a problem regarding Default Domain GPO. 

Recently i wanted to review my GPO Settings, but now i see something 
strange. 

When i open "Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates" 

I only see the folowing: 
Windows Components 

and I don't see: 
-Start Menu and Task Bar 
-Desktop 
-Control Panel 
-Shared Folders 
-Network 
-System 


I proof to add Templates and the windows show that are installed: 


Conf          (25/03/2003) 
Inetres (25/03/2005) 
System        (25/03/2005) 
Wmplayer(25/03/2005) 
Wuau        (25/03/2005) 

I need to modify Desktop Policy but I can't 

Does anyone know how to get them back?
