Tom-

What issue, exactly, are you having when users are offline? Are installs or
updates failing because the network share is not available?

Subject: [gptalk] Laptop issue

List members,

We have one Group policy defined within our network. All laptops and
workstations are under this GP.

We started seeing issues with the Laptops and their "My Documents"
directory.

In the GP, the " My Document" directory on all workstations is redirected to
the users file area, exp: <file:///\\server\users\username>
\\server\users\username

When the laptops are off the network and the laptop owner wishes to install
or update something, it still points to the network share.

The simple answer is to remove the laptops from under that GP, but I would
like to design it so the "My Documents" area is still pointing to the
network share when they return to the network.

What's the best way to handle this?

Thanks,
