Thank you Jamie...that's exactly what I thought. I saw a MS article on how to
manipulate either a folder or registry key for driver installs...i.e. giving
rights to install anything, not just local printers, which is risky but seems
the only way to do so.

I don't think you can do that because there is no user right assignment policy
specifically for creating a local printer. You could, however, use the new GPP
preferences to create the printer for them. Don't know if that helps you out
much, but it is an option.

I think I know the answer to this, but wanted to run this by everyone. Is there
a way to grant users the ability to add LOCAL printers withOUT making them
local Admins? They are power users.
