Alan-
That should be in there. At least, I'm looking at my local copy of the ADM
and it has the following:
POLICY !!USERENV
EXPLAIN !!USERENV_HELP
KEYNAME "Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon"
PART !!USERENVMODE DROPDOWNLIST
VALUENAME "UserEnvDebugLevel"
ITEMLIST
NAME !!NormalLogging VALUE NUMERIC
65537
NAME !!VerboseLogging VALUE NUMERIC
65538
NAMe !!SuperLogging VALUE NUMERiC 196610
NAME !!NoneLogging VALUE NUMERIC 0
I have to say that on Vista, I still prefer the Operational Logs, but not
enough folks have deployed Vista for it to be a critical mass way of
troubleshooting GP, so we are stuck with the ugly trace logs for the
forseeable future.

Hi Darren,
That's rather useful!
Any reason for not including SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon UserEnvDebugLevel = 65538.
It still seems to still work on Vista and provide more info than is provided
in the Event logging. Perhaps there is an option to increase the amount of
info in Event logging?

Krisani-
Typically you need read permissions on a GPO to back it up. I'm not sure
GPMC logging will give you any more detail here but check out my gpolog.adm
file-it contains all of the various logging options that GP provides and is
available at www.gpoguy.com/gpolog.htm

Subject: [gptalk] GPMC logging
Hello,
When I try to copy or backup a GPO using GPMC on Vista,
I am getting the error "Access is denied".
How do I enable GPMC logging so that I can get more details
about this.
Thanks
krisani
