Here's a chance to look over ratings and time delays for the boats we have
in database now. I am planning to start things around 10 or so, with the
idea that we can wrap up by 2 or 3....should avoid most T-storms. Don't
forget to let me know if you plan to use a spinnaker...I'll adjust you down
by 12 seconds before I calculate the race instructions. So far, George
Christian has opted for spinnaker, and I probaly will, too. (No point in
George having the only upside-down boat out there.) To review, in the
staggard start system, each boat will take the delay indicated at the start.
For example, if the start time is 10:30, Nancy Susan would start at that
time. Siga Siga would start at 10:02, Anan Cara at 10:02:56, and so on, for
the full course. The higher rated and theoretically faster boats "give" a
headstart to the lower rated boats. Nancy Susan gets a fifteen-minute and 13
second head start on Rebecca J, for example.
