Subject: [gpsbug] Mother's Day Race
Fellow Sailors,
I have heard from a couple of boats that they will not be able to race
on Mother's=20
Day. Something to do with not being able to obtain the necessary
"kitchen pass". =20
So I decided to take a survey to see if anyone would (a) like to
reschedule this=20
week's race for Saturday or (b) strenuously would object. or (c) wasn't
planning on=20
racing either day, anyway.
Please let me know by Wednesday evening. If we get enough a's or c's,
and no b's,=20
I'll reschedule. I really didn't think about Mother's day when drawing
up the=20
schedule, but changing to Saturday would please my family's "Momma",
too.
Congratulations to John Edwards on another win Sunday. In blustery WSW
winds 18=20
knots, gusting to mid-20's, Recovery took a first with Rebecca J and
Alexis trying=20
to close in the last leg. Rebecca J was second, Alexis third. An
understaffed=20
Lady Jacqueline fought hard to stay in it and finished fourth.
If you or a friend wants to crew on one of these boats, let me know.
Crewing on a=20
small cruiser during short races is an excellent way to build sailing
skills and=20
enjoy a beautiful sport that takes place in a beautiful venue.
Recovery and Rebecca J are tied for first in the series. Competition is
tightening=20
up out there. =20
See ya on the water.
John
