I've done it on our Amtrak and it usually works fine, better if you can get in
a Vista dome car with lots of glass. I don't know if the windows are tented,
but I've used it with good success before. Creating vehicle routes in my
experience hasn't worked well as the software will tend to take you to the
nearest roads. I found it better to just keep track of my location. You could
also make a replay file then make a route from that file. Jim

Subject: [gps-talkusers] using gps on trains
Hi all,
I'm curious to know, how effective is gps on trains? How would you use it?
would you create a vehicle route?
