Yes, the Tele Atlas maps are the same on Geo, BrailleNote and
Braille Sense GPS products.
In fact, Wayfinder also uses the Tele Atlas maps although Wayfinder
does not use the full compliment of points of interest that the
Sendero products use.

I may give mobile a geo a try on one of my windows mobile phones,
since access only works on Symbian, and unfortunately, the regular
version of way finder does not work at all with either screen reader
for windows mobile. Just wondering, are the maps the same as what is
used on the braillenote.

Understand. I am using version 2.5.
If you have both products and compare the LookAround capabilities,
the differences are quite apparent.

Actually, the new version will tell you one point of interest at a
time, and it does tell you if you are off track. If it doesn't tell
you that, it's safe to assume you are heading the right away. The
2.5
version has improved on the automatic announcements quite a bit.

True. Wayfinder would also be nice but it does not have the same
sort of LookAround capabilities as Geo. For one thing, Wayfinder
uses degrees to tell you the orientation of intersections and
points
of interest. This can be very confusing on top of distance
information.
Without touching any keys at all, Geo gives you one point of
interest at a time and one intersection at a time. Wayfinder
either
has to be queried for one of these types of information or it
piles
up a bunch of things all at once.
When it comes to routes, Wayfinder doesn't automatically tell
you if
you are headed in the right or the wrong direction. You have to
check the itinerary or guide view. It doesn't happen automatically
as it does with Geo.
If you have a Symbian phone, Wayfinder is your only option and
it is
ok. It is far short of any of the Sendero GPS products however.

What I loved about my Geo ride this morning is that I got
information in a simple automatic fashion, much like my wife did.
Actually, for this, way finder access would also be a great
choice,
especially with the new feature of automatically announcing
street
crossings, or points of interest, actually in this case, points
of
interest would probably be a better choice. Or you could use the
around you view which does both.
