[gps-talkusers] Re: using Mobile Geo on a bicycle

Wow! Fantastic!

One question, Mike:
I may have missed this. Is the Oakley then a bluetooth GPS receiver fitted into a pair of sunglasses?

Subject: [gps-talkusers] using Mobile Geo on a bicycle

I unfortunately have not gotten out on our tandem bicycle in a
while.
It is a beautiful sunny crisp day here in Davis so we went for a
several hour ride. I would normally take my PK but thought to
take
the phone with Mobile Geo this time. On a long ride, the less
weight
the better.

I stuck the phone in a jacket pocket, fired up my Oakley
Bluetooth
sunglasses and off we went. It was a blast having all the
lookaround
information announced. It is nice to keep your mind off your
legs and
having all the location information really helped.

My wife liked it too because I wasn't moving around trying to
read
the Braille display. I just left the phone in my pocket and
listened
through the glasses. With the wind and traffic, it was great
having
the two Bluetooth ear pieces. I enjoyed being able to comment on
points of interest we were passing and to help in deciding our
route
which we figured out on the fly. I highly recommend Mobile Geo
for
blind cyclists.
