[gps-talkusers] Re: user.poi question

Hi Charles,
I did try to take down any overhead I could and not only did it make GPS less than what I wanted, but it still took 20 seconds or more to get a response after pressing a command. That's not very good on foot and it's especially not useful in a vehicle.

Where would I send my user.poi file to get it made into a .bpi file? It's not very big because I didn't have very much ability to build it, but what's in it is very important to me and I hate to have to redo it.

Thanks.

Hello Kristeen,

I am sorry to hear that you had to switch back to 3.3. I do know there is a lot more going on in this release which may be overtaxing the Classic. You could try turning off some of the lookaround features but that probably defeats the purpose.

As for your user poi question yes I believe the file format changed between 3.3 and 3.5, it was upward compatible but it is not be backward compatible. What I would suggest is sending us your user poi file and we will create a 3.3 compatible commercial "user" bpi file.

Charles.

Hello,
I had to switch back to version 3.3 of GPS because it just wouldn't run with any speed on the Braillenote classic. I had been building a substancial POI file with the new version of GPS and it doesn't seem to load with 3.3. Is this accurate? Do I need to start over, or is there some way this file can be used?
