Did you by chance during that time look at the GPS Status by pressing G? It may
be possible that there was a poor connection with the satellites or no
Bluetooth connection.

last week I turned on my gps while on the bus and for about three minutes it
was giving wrong information. It was showing me being eighteen blocks south of
where I was. It had the direction correct but the street was wrong.

Force GPS heading: this option allows you to tell the system the heading you
will
be traveling. For example you exit a subway and always head west. The GPS will
not
know the direction of travel until you move for a time. To change your initial
heading
press ENTER with H on the BT and READ with H on the QT. You are then presented
with a menu with the following options: North, Northeast,
East, Southeast, South, Southwest, West, Northwest, by degrees and unknown
heading.
Selecting any Compass heading sets your heading temporarily to the desired
direction.
If you wish to set the heading to a specific degree i.e. 121, select the "by
degrees"
option. Selecting unknown forces your heading to be in an unknown state. Once
you
move for 15 seconds or so, your temporary heading will be replaced by the real
GPS
heading.
