It will give you the turns but it will not know to tell you what side to walk
on.

Subject: [gps-talkusers] Re: routes
Hi, Chris,
My starting position was the subway stop. I know it's street location,
so I set my virtual position using the street name because I could not find
the subway stop itself. BTW, could this be because this section of the
subway is underground? Do subway stops only show up on overground portions
of a subway/elevated?
Anyhow, the subway stop was my virtual position and I set the
destination to the ICA's street address, both number and street name, and
created the pedestrian route.
I heard a turn, but was not told which way to turn. Then I heard some
cross streets, so I assumed I keep going straight. But particularly because
of the problems I've encountered getting information about things on the
opposite side of the street, I want to be walking on the correct side of the
street, the left side if I'm to turn left, or the right side if the turn is
to the right.
And what I'm wondering now is if I set the ICA's address as my
destination when I emerge from the subway, will I be told the turns and
their directions as I walk toward my destination? Not the getting warmer
method, but a route being created in real time? Or must I create a
pedestrian route, which does not seem to give me direction of turns?
