In the UK The odd numbers that is 1, 3, 5 are on the left hand side if you
start from number 1. This will usually be the south or east side of the
street but I have found instances where this does not hold good.

The standard rule for addresses is even addresses (2342) are on the south
and east sides of the stree an odd numbers are on the north and west sides.
