* Yes.

* The 1GB card is adequate for most users. If you have the ability to 
transfer maps from the CDs to the CF card, you can always move maps to the 
card when you travel. This means you need either a laptop with a built in 
card slot or a CF card reader on a desktop computer. Those are under $50. 
The reason someone would get all the maps preloaded on a 2GB and a 4GB card 
is because they don't want to deal with transferring maps or they regularly 
use maps all over the U.S. in virtual mode.
