Kevin,
What I am asking about is the possibility of entering the name of a known
cross street or a previously created user poi or a commercial poi as an
alternative to the address after entering the city and street name while
setting an address. Sometimes I have no idea of the exact adress, but I do
know a cross street.

a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might
inherit a blessing." (I Peter 3: 7-9)

: Sheila,
:
: Both of these are currently possible.
:
: If you are wanting to set a poi as either your destination or virtual
: position; you can do the following:
: 1. stand at the spot you are wanting to mmake a poi, make sure you have a
: gps fix
: 2. on the bt press space with dot 3 and on the qt press control with r;
type
: in the name for that location, and if you want to add details, just put in
a
: comma (for example, home, 555 north thornton rd); the information after
the
: comma will only be presented if you expand the poi by pressing
space/control
: p
: 3. press enter to confirm the poi name/details
: 4. in the future you will be able to find this poi by doing space/control
f
: and accepting all/user for the category
: 5. for the search string, type in home if you are using the example above
or
: whatever you might be looking for
: 6. press space/control d to set the poi as your destination or
: space/control v to set it as your virtual position.
:
: I hope the above mmade sense and wasn't too way out there. the / denote
: either bt/qt commands or choosing either one of two items as in all/user.
:
: entering cross street
: This is also currently possible. When you are presented with the street
name
: field, type in the street name you want, either one will do. when you are
: presented with the next field, address number, press enter and a list of
: cross streets will be brought up. You can then define it as your
: destination, poi, or virtual
:
: I hope this helps.
