[gps-talkusers] Re: new chat concept

Hi,

I tried, early on, to get into the chat room and failed. I think it is my computer or my fire wall. Anyway, I wonder if others may have the same difficulty as I have had. Now I have a new computer and may try again. It has a built in microphone that may make things easier. This is not the only chat room that I have tried to access and failed. I know it is me.

Subject: [gps-talkusers] new chat concept

Hi Folks,

Our original concept with our weekly chat room was that new users
would have a free place to come and ask questions. They could
hear
from the experts as well as other users. We haven't found that
very
many people have taken advantage of this service.

I am thinking I will organize a once a month seminar on GPS that
is
more generic in nature. For example, let's have an expert on WAAS
and
assisted GPS present to users. We could get someone from our map
company, Tele Atlas, to tell us about the details of collecting
and
updating data. There are all sorts of GPS topics we could
probably
cover that would be of interest to the entire accessible GPS
community.

I need to get a couple months lined up before we launch this and
we
won't necessarily discontinue the weekly chats but we might.

Mike
